Small fins are more difficult to use than longer fins - the shorter the fin, the more work you have to do to balance the additional weight of the fin.
Fins are a great tool to teach dolphin kick - you can kick with both feet together very easily if you roll on your back and hold a kickboard at your head - plus its a great core workout!
